Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to drinking water, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in providing protection systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks overnight. A minor was killed and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after nights of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
